There are many documents about crosswalking, harmonizing, mapping or unifying one regulation or standard to another. For the sake of sanity, we are going to call this process, in general, mapping because crosswalking and harmonizing are both a part of mapping and unifying is too broad. As of the date this paper was written, Google has almost half a million references that are just all over the place in terms of their applicability and usability. Not having either the time or inclination to check all those references, we checked the first fifty that Google presented us. Of those, three of them stated their mapping rules explicitly.
This paper will explore and explicitly define each of the methodologies in mapping compliance mandates that establish the cornerstone of the Unified Compliance Framework.
